Dear Youth Parents & Students:
The 09-10 school year brought many achievements that we are excited about! Each year the staff continues to set high achievement goals and focus on school improvement so that our students can be successful. This school year is no different and we celebrate how wonderful our students really are with the positive outcomes of the school's writing scores and CRCT achievement. This year our writing scores continued to climb to 85% meets and exceeds (M/E) while our CRCT scores reached 84% (M/E) overall in math and 92% overall (M/E) in reading! Additionally, we offered PTO family topic nights, presented two art gallery nights; FBLA brought gold home with 3 students, 8 DUKE Tip state recognitions, and FFA had a state winning team, as well as, the school had its first Stock Market region team champions! Our school community welcomed our new high school this year and the student body voted to share in the spirit and excitement of developing a long standing tradition that will bind us together as we all become WARRIORS.
In regards to state and national testing standards, our students face challenges and opportunities that are ever increasing. We must teach the curriculum required for the success of our students, but we also deeply believe that we teach many lessons of life. High expectations are truly what drive this staff and I am proud of all of their work this year. Together, with your students, we have accomplished many of our academic goals and exceeded many areas of writing, reading, language arts, math, science, & social studies. While we will take a little time to celebrate, we must not ever be satisfied with our progress, but continue to improve and strive for success. We look forward to next year as we begin to plan for our new goals! We hope that you have a restful summer and we look forward to our new year as WARRIORS!
Sincerely,
Bridget A. Lynch,
Principal
